Spring Training

Jeffrey James was so eager to begin his training as a tee ball player for East Greenwich Township. The team met on Friday night. They ate, shared some info, high-fived and practiced running bases inside the Little Red Schoolhouse.

Today marked the first real on-field tee ball practice. It was the cutest thing in sports I've ever seen. The team arrived, did some stretching and running and began their practice by breaking up into groups to learn the basics: hitting and throwing.
Jamie loaded his big boy up with his back pack.

The boys followed daddy to the practice field.

Stretch those arms. Now there's a concept, stretching an upper extremity :)

Check out that face!

Jeffrey asked Daddy for an after practice practice. He wanted to have a catch with the tee ball and then hit while Daddy pitches. Assistant Coach Jamie gladly obliged and enjoyed it as much, if not more, than Jeff.

Packed up and headed home

It was such a sweet moment watching Jamie and our boys doing something they love. I can't wait to see what great things will come for our Jeffrey throughout this season.

March 1st

Well, the day that seemed to be millions of light years away has arrived...March 1st.
Today is the first day that both mom and dad ventured off to work on the same day since June of 2010. I had been on my 3 month family leave from September to December 1st. Jamie started his December 1st to...well...today. I know his 1st graders will be pysched to see him when they walk through the door. He'll now go from hearing, "DADDY, DADDY, DADDY..." all day to "Mr. S., Mr. S., Mr. S."
Jeffrey and Jack were excited to return to their favorite 2nd mom, Ms. Chris. Thank God we have no worries about how their day will go.
Therapy continues now 2 days a week. Jamie will race to pick them up at the sitter after work on Tuesdays and head to therapy in Washington Township, I'll do the same on Wednesdays. It may only last for 4-6 more weeks since Jeffrey is doing so well.
Jamie took a trip down to Baltimore Friday with Jeffrey just to get one last physical therapy eval by the crew at the Rubin Institute. Ms. Kym was impressed with Jeff's knee flexion (130 degrees) and said his gait looked really good too. Our goal  is to keep his foot straight while walking and to strengthen that ankle.
Well, we survived living on one income for 6 months. (Well, so far so good. Payday is the 15th.)
Thank God and all of you for your generosity. We never could have done it without you!!!
Here's to March 1st!
Car ride to Ms. Chris' chowing on waffles.
